EdgeSenses efficiently connects production systems and machines to your IT-environment. Compared to conventional edge gateways, EdgeSenses offers comprehensive functionalities to acquire and preprocess measurement and control-data synchronously. With our technology, technical issues are transformed into speaking technical key performance indicators (tech. KPIs) which are characterized by high expressiveness paired with low data volume. Of course, it is possible to safe and transfer full datasets into IT systems. However, we always care for well structured, labelled data which can unfold value immediately.
Function of the EdgeSenses Edge Device
EdgeSenses automatically records mechanical variables such as force, pressure, acceleration, position in real time. A particular strength is the reliable calculation of combined quantities, which can be used to quantify tilting or off-center forces.
The resulting data is first filtered in the edge device, aggregated and stored locally. After that, it is forwarded to the desired destinations. Edge processing reduces network traffic, lowers latency, and ensures that only relevant information finds its way into the central infrastructure. Targeted forwarding reduces the negative effects of data silos and allows, for example, central AI training.
Automatic reports are generated at fixed times and deliver, for example, Clear, meaningful reports on the system status and process behavior. These reports can then be easily exported, visualized in dashboards or integrated into existing reporting systems.
A key advantage of EdgeSenses is the complete independence of the users: they retain 100% control over all data flows. The intuitive operation enables fully automated operation without a display – ideal for use in critical production environments – as well as kiosk operation with appealing dashboard visualizations for end users.
High safety standards are an integral part of the device. EdgeSenses does not interfere with productive processes, works in secure kiosk mode and receives regular security updates. This ensures both data integrity and operational stability.

Integration und Design of EdgeSenses Edge Devices
The illustration on the right visualizes the interaction of the essential components in EdgeSenses. Analogue and digital inputs and outputs are connected to the RealtimeDevice (RTD) via the front end. The rtdInteface of the ManufacturingDataSuite (MDS) controls the data acquisition, synchronous and secure transfer to the ParallelProcessingDevice (PPD). There, data is stored in the original format and evaluated with the analyticsCore. The connectAI module allows transactional processing and exchange with connected systems. Visualizations of the guiShell can be used via RemoteDesktop connections (RDP) or via the integrated HDMI port to configure the system or check the correct functionality.
